Payments

Add a payment method (card, PayPal, bank, bank transfer or cheque) and test it before opening the shop.

Adding a payment method

  1. Open Shop › Payments.
  2. Click Add Payment Method.
  3. Choose a provider. They are grouped by family: Cards & Wallets (Stripe, PayPal…), French banks, Italian providers, Spanish banks, international, American and Canadian providers, and offline payments (Bank transfer, Check, cash on delivery, in-store pickup…).
  4. Fill in the requested information: the access keys supplied by your provider or, for an offline payment, your instructions (IBAN, cheque payee, pickup address).
  5. Turn it on.

Your keys stay on your server

Your providers’ secret keys are never placed in your site’s pages: they are used only by the payment files installed on your hosting.

Testing before taking payments

Stripe and PayPal offer a test mode (called Sandbox at PayPal): set it in the provider’s configuration, place a test order on your published site, then switch back to live mode.

Some providers are integrated but have not yet been validated by a real transaction on our side: TOWeb flags them in the Publish screen. Make a test purchase before opening the shop, and tell us how it goes.

What you need to take payments

  • a site address entered in Publish: the payment return pages need it;
  • PHP hosting, with an HTTPS certificate;
  • the e-Commerce or Studio edition.

The Test the server button in the Publish screen checks your hosting: see Publishing to your web host.

Offline test orders

The local test (see Testing your site before publishing it) never contacts card providers, so nothing is charged. Place your test orders there by bank transfer, cheque or pickup.
