Installing TOWeb 15
System requirements, installation on Mac and Windows, and automatic updates.
System requirements
- Mac: macOS 13 Ventura or later. The same installer works on Apple silicon Macs and Intel Macs.
- Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
An Internet connection is only needed to download TOWeb, activate a licence, publish your site and receive updates. Everything else (creating, editing, previewing) works offline.
On Mac
- Download the .dmg file from the Download page on lauyan.com.
- Double-click to open it.
- Drag the TOWeb icon into the Applications folder.
- Launch TOWeb from the Applications folder or Launchpad.
On Windows
- Download the setup-toweb installer from the Download page on lauyan.com.
- Run it and follow the steps. You can choose the installation folder.
- When it finishes, TOWeb is available in the Start menu and on the desktop, under the name TOWeb V15.
A signed installer
TOWeb 15 installers are signed by Lauyan Software, on Mac as on Windows. If your system asks you to confirm the first time you launch it, that is the usual check for a downloaded application.
Updates
TOWeb checks for updates itself. When a new version is available, it downloads in the background and installs the next time TOWeb restarts; a Restart now button lets you do it right away.
To check manually: TOWeb Settings (at the bottom of the sidebar) › General › Updates › Check for updates.
A new major version never installs itself: you are only notified of TOWeb 15 updates.
What next?
On first launch, TOWeb offers to create your first site or, if you already used TOWeb, to import a TOWeb 5 to 14 site.
