Turning on AI control
Allow AI assistants in TOWeb’s settings, then add your assistant in one click.
Allow AI assistants
- Open TOWeb Settings › AI.
- In the AI assistant (MCP) section, turn on Allow AI assistants. Access stays closed until you turn it on.
- Click your assistant’s Add to… button, for example Add to Claude Desktop, then quit the assistant completely and start it again.
The button changes to Connected to… as soon as the assistant has reached TOWeb: that’s the proof everything works. The same switch cuts access at any time.
Leave this screen open while you restart the assistant: the button changes to Connected to… on its own.
TOWeb only shows a button for the assistants installed on your computer. For another assistant, it offers a configuration to copy below the buttons, specific to your computer. Each assistant has its own page in this chapter.
TOWeb open or closed
- TOWeb open: the assistant works in the open site. You see every change live, and you undo it just like your own.
- TOWeb closed: the assistant works directly on your site files. You find its changes the next time you open the site.
If the assistant started before TOWeb, it finds TOWeb again on its next request, once TOWeb is open.
On Mac
Launch TOWeb from the Applications folder, not from the disk image or the Downloads folder: the assistant would no longer find it. TOWeb warns you in its settings if it is running from a temporary location.
