After the import: style, finishing touches and publishing

Choose your style, handle what the report flags, check the shop, then publish at the same address.

1. Choose your style

Your content is already in place. In the report, click Choose my style, or open Theme: try the styles on your own pages. Each one applies in a click and can be undone just as fast. Colours, fonts and shapes can then be adjusted. See Choosing a style.

2. Handle what the report flags

Go through the What was not carried over section and deal with each line: redo a form, reinsert a video or a map, tidy up the menu (see The menu and the footer).

3. Check the shop

If your site sold online:

  • review your tax rates in Shop › Taxes: tax rules may have changed;
  • reconnect your online payments in Shop › Payments with your access keys (offline payments, such as bank transfer or cheque, are brought over with their instructions);
  • review your terms and conditions of sale, brought over into a page: the law may have changed since they were written.

See the Selling online chapter.

4. Other languages

If your site existed in several languages, the main language is imported and existing translations are brought over. Texts that had no translation will be translated along with the others: see Translating your site.

5. Publish

In Publish, enter your hosting (FTP or SFTP; exporting to a folder is reserved for the paid editions). You can publish to the same place and at the same address as your TOWeb 14 site: see Publishing to your web host.

If your site had a TOWeb administration, it becomes your site’s online dashboard: orders, invoices, stock and bookings. Its first-login code appears on the Publish screen after the first publication. See Your site’s dashboard.

Test before switching over

Before replacing your live site, try out the shop, forms and bookings on your computer with Test the site locally: see Testing your site before publishing it.
