Your online store automatically becomes compliant with the new European legislation after simply installing this update, free for TOWeb 14 users, and republishing your site.

A European obligation, already in force

Since June 19, 2026, the right of withdrawal has been an applicable and mandatory European directive for online stores in France and Germany — and its extension to all EU countries is imminent. In practice, any e-commerce site that sells to consumers (B2C) must clearly inform its customers of their right to cancel a purchase within the legal period.

Failing to comply exposes you to penalties and fines — not to mention the risk to your image and your customers' trust. If your site sells online, compliance is no longer optional.

With TOWeb, it's automatic

Good news: TOWeb 14.07 takes care of everything, by default. If your site includes a store with online purchasing, TOWeb automatically adds a “Withdraw from the contract here” link in the footer, which guides your customers through their withdrawal request. Your site is compliant without any manual steps.

And you stay in control:

  • Place the link wherever you like in your pages by simply inserting the name of the new field %TW-WITHDRAWAL-LINK% (ideally in the footer so that it remains visible everywhere).
  • Configure or disable the feature (withdrawal period, etc.) from the E-Commerce › Withdrawal screen.
  • In the event of a withdrawal, you and your customer will receive an email notification, and the status of the customer's order will be automatically updated in your site's back office.

A simple update to TOWeb 14.07 is all it takes to be compliant.

Go further with WebLegal

TOWeb adds the button and automatically handles the notification and the order status change; what remains are your legal texts, which must also mention this new withdrawal feature. That's where WebLegal comes in: it generates your T&Cs and your withdrawal notice in compliance with Directive (EU) 2023/2673, with the wording specific to your country (France, Germany, then the rest of the EU as the directive is transposed).

The two tools complement each other perfectly: give WebLegal the URL of the withdrawal link added by TOWeb on your site, and your T&Cs will point to it correctly — button, acknowledgment email and legal notices finally consistent with each other. All as a one-time purchase, no subscription, and in 14 languages.
