Standard Google Universal Analytics (UA) will permanently stop working on 1 July 2023. After that date, you will still be able to view your Universal Analytics reports for a while, but new data will only be sent to users of Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

Why is it important to migrate to GA4?

GA4 helps you get to know your customers better thanks to predictive features, and includes new settings to match new privacy standards, such as measurement without Google cookies, and anticipates the removal of third-party cookies by mid-2024.

If you don't migrate from Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 soon:

You will no longer be able to monitor your site's activity or analyse your visitors' behaviour

You will lose the ability to measure your media performance and your links between UA and Google Ads

Your dashboards based on Google Analytics data will stop working

How to migrate to GA4?

If you haven't done so already, we strongly recommend that you switch to GA4 right now with TOWeb 11, which will give you points of comparison once the old version is gone and also help you get familiar with the new GA4 tool.
If you are using Google Analytics for the first time, GA4 will be applied by default when you create a new property.
Conversely, if you are still using Universal Analytics, a new GA4 property will be added to your Universal Analytics account, and that is the one you will need to use in TOWeb 11 for your site, without deleting your existing Universal Analytics property, so that you keep collecting UA data for as long as possible.

The deadline is approaching, so make sure you migrate now by reading all our advice.

As a reminder, Google Analytics is a free website analytics service provided by Google. It lets you track and report data about the traffic on your websites. The information you can collect with Google Analytics can include the number of visitors to your site, how long they stay, the pages they visited, their geographic location, the device they use (computer, mobile, tablet) and much more. This data can help you understand how visitors interact with your site, which can then be used to optimise your site and improve the user experience and SEO.
