You can access and configure the e-Commerce features from the Settings step of TOWeb. For further details click on the picture aside to enlarge it.
In addition to use different predefined payment methods (Paypal, MoneyBookers, Ogone, OBC, check, wire transfer, Western Union, MoneyGram, ...), the e-Commerce options let you manage your sale countries, different VAT, shipping prices and deliveries by country, discounts and coupons as well as customizing your order form. How to add a new payment mode ? |
From the "Payment modes" link you you can add other payment modes to your shopping cart like check or wire transfer with the "+" button located above the payments list in the shopping cart payment configuration dialog box. If the offline payment you are looking for is not present in the list (check, wire transfer, Western Union, MoneyGram), you will need to add one (the closest to your needs) and customize it like for instance starting with the Cash or Western Union template and update the instructions for your new payment mode. If you want to use another online credit card payment service than the ones predefined in TOWeb (MoneyBookers, Ogone, OBC) like for example the credit card payment service of your bank, you need to add a "user payment script" and copy/paste your HTML redirection form into the field located under the "Payment script" tab. The creation of your own payment scripts requires advanced web programming skills on which no support will be made by Lauyan. The development of your payment script is not assisted by TOWeb and such script adapted to your needs will NOT be provided by the Lauyan support. To obtain such payment scripts, ask them to your payment service provider and have them customized to your needs by their services or by yourself. More information about other payments.
For each payment method you can also assign additional fees that can be systematic or based on customer's country. This may be necessary if for example your bank applies additional charges for some type of payments such as checks coming from foreign countries. |

How do I get and configure email orders ? |
You automatically receive by email the orders to the email address you specified in Submitted orders configuration. Depending on your needs and preferences TOWeb offers 3 different options for sending email orders from your e-Commerce website:
1) using the form to mail i-Service (recommended choice) if your host supports PHP and allows you to use the mail function on your web space too, then you should activate and use the i-Service Form located in the "Settings > i-Services" screen of TOWeb and configure this service by ticking the option "Use this i-service to receive customers orders by email". A script will then be automatically generated on your web space and be responsible to email you all the order coming from your e-commerce site. 2) using Lauyan.com email forward service if your host does not allow you to use PHP scripts on your web space or do not allow you to send email, then you can use the service of our Lauyan.com server. Nevertheless this service will have disadvantages and limitations compared to the i-service meaning that the size of the shopping cart will be to limited to maximum 15 items and that you will not have the use of all features (for instance no orders backup on your webspace, not being on a copy of the email send to customers and no blacklists management). Moreover orders sent from your site will go through our Lauyan.com server to be emailed to you. All information from your site including information of your orders are confidential (they are neither consulted nor at any time stored on our server that serves just as a relay) but this means that if you (or an anti-spam) ever accidentally deleted an email of your orders, it would be totally impossible for us to forward you any information about an order of your site because we have absolutely no trace of your orders on our side. Eventually the last disadvantage compared to the i-service is that orders redirection may sometimes be blocked by some internet security systems installed on their computer. 3) using your own script if you have web programming skills to create your own order script (PHP, ASP, ...) then you enter its URL.
Note: if you do not use e-Commerce edition of TOWeb purchases on your site will run in demo mode which means that you will receive by email the contents of the orders but that their content will be only partial (all information including those of your customers will not appear). |

How to manage rebates ? |
You can create and manage rebate and coupons from the rebate codes button located in the "Settings > e-Commerce" screen. By enabling this option and adding one or more rebates you will be able to enter any code that you will communicate to them so they can have price rebate on their purchase. The rebate can be either a fixed amount (eg $5 discount on a purchase) or a percentage of the amount (eg 5% rebate) or a quantity offer (eg 1 item free for 3 purchased). And if you want a coupon to be no longer valid you can specify a validity period (with a starting date and/or an ending date), enable or disable it before republish your site to make your changes effective on Internet. A reduction may be either "global", meaning applicable to the total amount of the shopping cart or "local", meaning applicable to just a product or several products (by entering several references). Depending on the coupon, its "value" and its "minimum" shall have the following constraints:
- a rebate applicable to the total amount of the shopping cart may have a value amount or a % (but no quantity) and its minimum is always an amount.
- a coupon rebate applicable to one or several products can have a value amount, a % or a quantity and its minimum is always a quantity (not an amount).
A rebate can be automatic or with a coupon:
- an automatic rebate is always applicable to your shopping cart and your customer doesn't have to enter any coupon (just leave empty the field "coupon code" to have an automatic rebate). If you enter several automatic rebates they will be cumulative, meaning they will all be applied to your shopping cart
- a coupon rebate applies only if you specify a coupon code and the customer has entered it while ordering from your site. Only one coupon can be applied during an order.

Can I sell files or digital documents online with TOWeb ? |
TOWeb doesn't provide any particular feature to assist you in providing digital download after a payment is processed on your website. What you could do with TOWeb is to protect some pages of your website (using the .htaccess protection), the ones where you will place one or several downloadable files so that only authorized persons can access them and download your files. Let suppose for instance that you have a PDF file for sale and that a customer orders and pays for it from your website. Then what you could do is :
- to create a login & password for this person in order to authorized him/her to access your donwload page
- publish your website to have this change available online
- and contact back you customer to provide him/her the URL of your download page as well as the login & password required
And later on, if you want the access to expire, all you need is to remove his/her login & password from the list of authorized persons and publish again your website change online So depending on your needs, this might be possible but will not be automated : you will have to manually create and remove your customers' login & password, publish your website changes and provide to your customers their login & password by email for instance. |
