TOWeb step 4 : "Settings"

This page presents all the global or advanced parameters located in the TOWeb's Settings.

Protected web pages

To protect your web pages you need to use the options located under the Privacy tab of  your topics. From there you can choose to let the access everyone, protect a topic with a single password or, if you host provider accepts .htaccess files, restrict the access to a list of users.
From the Security screen of TOWeb settings step you can change the global security  parameters of your website like for instance disable the right click to prevent visitors to leech your pictures and fill out the page title and the prompt message displayed to your visitors when they access protected topics.

Shopping Cart

With a shopping cart on your website, your visitors will be able to add the products they want to purchase before to proceed to their payment.
IMPORTANT : The Shopping Cart settings are only used when you have at least one catalog in your website with the shopping cart activated. The Prices and shopping cart options of a catalog are available under its Design and layout tab.

Handling shipping prices / Weight & amount limits per order

Use the shipping prices option to manage shipping prices on website. When activated, this option will allow you to specify both a price and a shipping price for each item of your catalogs.

And if you want to limit the amount or weight per order, you may specify minimum and maximum values. Below this amount, online customers will have a message indicating that the amount of their order is insufficient (you may customize this message in the General Settings / Language / Customize). Leave this field empty or to the value of 0 (zero) will ignore any minimum price for your shopping carts.

Name and Address of your Organization

Enter here the name and the address of your company or your organization and any additional message to your customer concerning the payment. This information will be displayed in the order form web page of your visitors when they will perform a checkout.

e-Commerce features

The e-Commerce features are running in demonstration mode if you haven't your e-Commerce license yet. If you already own a TOWeb Personal or Professional license you can upgrade to an e-Commerce edition from the License button located on the top left corner of TOWeb, otherwise you will need to obtain your license from our order page.
If you don't use the e-Commerce features, your payment pages will only contain a form that your customers will have to print and send to you. Click here to learn how to use the e-Commerce features.

Local search engine

You can add a search engine form on your website that will allow your visitors to search for any information contained in your topics. For more information on how to use your website's Search Engine with TOWeb please visit the following page :

HTML

Text & Script Fields

A TOWeb Field is a variable name that can either contain a text constant or a script (Javascript, HTML, PHP, ASP, ...) and be place anywhere in your topics. You can create your own fields or use the TOWeb predefined fields. For more information see our advice about the use of script fields.

<Head> section

If you need to add some source code lines in the <head> section of your website pages (like for instance specific meta tags provided by some search engines) you will need to copy/paste theses lines into the <head> section of the Settings step. If you encounter error double check your lines of code and make sure that none of the following tags are present : <html >, </html >, <head>, </head>, <body> and </body>

Default web file name

In general, you do not need to modify the name of your main web page unless your web server uses another default name as "index.html". Change it only if your server requires a different name.

TOWeb's settings

From this screen you can activate or disable all the warning messages appearing in TOWeb as well as sounds effects played in the TOWeb user interface.
