What comes with a TOWeb license ?

A TOWeb license is not a subscription but the firm and final price of the TOWeb Edition you purchase. In Registered Editions there will be no advertising and no limitations (these only appears in the Free Edition). For further information please visit our TOWeb Editions features chart.
A TOWeb license includes a free technical support by email for all the issues and questions you may have using our software and you will automatically benefit from the periodical free updates of the version 4.xx you purchase as well as special upgrade offers of any future major versions (version 5, version 6, ...). For additional information about TOWeb updates visit the history of TOWeb latest updates.
A TOWeb license does not include any website host service. Depending on your website and your personal or professional needs, you may subscribe to a host provider service or use a free host service like for example the one coming with your ISP. For more information please check our host service advices.
No CD-ROM or packaged version of the software will be send by postal mail. The latest version of TOWeb is always available from our website, so you can download it anytime you need to like for instance to proceed to a reinstallation using the registration code delivered by email after your purchase.

I purchased a license of TOWeb some times ago, can I have a rebate to upgrade to TOWeb V4 ?

Yes. If you have already purchased a license of TOWeb and want to upgrade to the new version 4 you first need to install it and proceed to the upgrade directly from the tab named "Upgrade to another edition" located in the "License" screen of TOWeb. Then you will be redirected to the order form of our website to see your preferential price and proceed to your payment.

How to upgrade ?

If you are using the Free Edition and want to upgrade to Registered Edition of TOWeb you can purchase it directly from our order page.
Otherwise if you already have a licence and want to upgrade to a different one you need to do it directly from TOWeb by clicking first on the Licence button and then Upgrade to the Edition of your choice from this screen. The cost of an upgrade is the price difference between the the two editions plus 5 EUR.

What about payment and delivery ?

We deliver a registration key against payment by credit card, check and wire transfer in Euros. Once the payment is received and accepted, you will receive your registration key along with the invoice to the e-mail address you indicated at the time of purchase. If you make a purchase by credit card you should normally receive this email within few minutes. If this was not the case, please verify first that this email has not been blocked by any spam filters on your email system before to contact us. Once you received this email you will need to install your registration key.
If you purchase your license by wire transfer or check, this may take several days before your payment to be processed and appear on our bank account. As soon as it will appear on our account you will receive your registration key and invoice by email. For more information please visit our Conditions of Sales and Payment Information pages.

How do I find my registration key if I lost my delivery mail ?

If, despite our recommendations, you have not made a backup of your delivery mail, fill out this form to request your key. You will need to enter your invoice number and your email address.

Can I offer TOWeb or purchase a license for third party ?

Yes, you need to check this option called "I want to offer this license to a third party" when you purchase from our website. Click here for more information about how to offer TOWeb.

General questions about TOWeb & Licenses

What kind of web pages can I publish with TOWeb ?

With TOWeb you can easily create and publish 3 different types of topics on the Internet :

web pages (like for instance a homepage, a blog, a Resume, a baby birth announcement, …)
photo albums
catalogs or collections (with or without a shopping cart)

Inside all your topics, you will add paragraphs containing your text, pictures, links to other websites or to files you may need to publish and make available for download as well as multimedia files (music, video, Flash animation), As an example, we invite you to visit a demo site created with TOWeb and see the free animated Lauyan Clocks you may use for your website.
Optionally and if you have some HTML source code or script to add to your website (like for instance a web page counter or the one you created), you will be able to include it using the script fields.

Can I create and publish my website with the Free Edition ?

Yes, with the free edition of TOWeb you can use the main features of TOWeb, including the publication of your website to the Internet, but with advertising added to your web pages and limits on your website size. To have the full benefits of all TOWeb features, you need to order your license.

My website was created with the Free Edition, can I continue it with another Edition ?

Yes. Whatever the TOWeb edition you are using, you will always be able to continue your current website(s) with a higher edition.

Which host for my website ?

If this is your first website you may consider using the web space coming with your Internet Service Provider subscription or any other free host available on the Internet. Some of them are directly usable with TOWeb and if they are not present in the list you will need to enter the FTP server address of your host provider. Can I publish my digital pictures with TOWeb ?

Yes. TOWeb is absolutely adapted to the publication of Web albums with thumbnail web pages and without the need of any other imaging software to enhance your pictures. TOWeb allows you to resize your pictures, to place them into a numerous choices of frames, to modify their colors, their sharpness and many other useful graphical effects. Photograph experts may also retrieve and use the EXIFS information contained in their digital pictures.

Can I create a Blog with TOWeb ?

Yes. TOWeb integrates a Blog template you might use or not to start your blog. But TOWeb allows you to go much further than a standard blog by creating as many blogs as needed in a complete website with you own design, with other topics or photo albums. And you can do all this using the power of your computer instead of the too limited services of any online solutions on the Internet.
Furthermore you always have the original copy of your website on your hard drive. You are not dependant of any Web server and you can decide to move or publish your website to any web host of your choice at any time. For more information please visit also the Blog i-Service.

Can I create a website in an other language than English ?

Yes. TOWeb supports the unicode standard so you may create a website in any language (including non latin charsets such as Cyrillic, Arabic, Greek, ...) and even use different languages into the same page or paragraph if needed. Is this website designed and managed with TOWeb ?

Yes. Our Lauyan.com site is created, maintained and published with TOWeb. Some specific parts like the forms and the online payment pages have been integrated using the TOWeb's Script Fields and their development requires advanced programming knowledge.

Can I receive a CD-ROM version of TOWeb ?

TOWeb is only available for download. No CD-ROM versions are available. If you need to reinstall it you can make a backup of the installation or download whenever you need from our website.

Is it possible to add some HTML code or scripts in a TOWeb website ?

Yes, if you have web programming skills or if you were given by someone an HTML code (or any web language script such as Javascript, PHP or ASP) you can add these source code lines into your website. To do this you will need to use the TOWeb script fields.

Can I install TOWeb on different computers?

In accordance with the End User License Agreement (EULA)" of TOWeb, you may use TOWeb on a second computer owned by you as long as the primary user of each copy is the same person and more than one copy is never used simultaneously. In any other cases, you will need to purchase as many licenses as TOWeb software installed on your different computers.

Questions related to the e-Commerce license

What are the features and services included in the e-Commerce license ?

an integrated support of the PayPal credit card secured payment service as well as other online payment systems (MoneyBookers, Ogone, OBC, ...) or offline payments (check, wire transfer, Western Union, MoneyGram, ...)
an automatic notification by email of the customer orders posted from your website
the management of several VAT, delivery mode and shipping prices per country/states
the possibility to sell a product with different types/subproducts and at different prices
a shopping cart integrated to your website that you can customize...

Can I try the e-Commerce features before to purchase the license ?

Yes, you can evaluate the e-Commerce license features by installing the latest version of TOWeb and verify if it suits your needs before to purchase your license. E-Commerce features (configurable from "Options > e-Commerce" step) are automatically enabled and activated on your website whenever you use the option "use a shopping cart" in a catalog (option located in the "Design and layout" tab of your catalog). In demonstration mode you will have the following limitations : a "demonstration text" will be added on your payment pages, a maximum of 3 products per order and the orders sent to your email address will be incomplete (customer information will not appear).

Can I create a merchant website without the e-Commerce license ?

With a Personal or Professional edition edition you will not have payment page, no order form and no orders sent by email on your website. Your catalogs will only show you products with their price and will not be able to create sub-products. In order to have a shopping cart and receive your customer orders you will need to purchase an e-Commerce license.
Note: The e-Commerce features (configurable from "Options > e-Commerce" step) are automatically enabled and activated on your website whenever you use a catalog with the option "use a shopping cart" (option located in the "Design and layout" tab of your catalog). If you don't have a TOWeb e-Commerce license your website will run in demonstration mode for the orders.

Is there any subscription to pay ?

No. There is no subscription to pay at Lauyan Software to use the e-Commerce features, you just have to purchase your license. If you want to accept credit cards on your website through the PayPal secured payment service, you will need to open an account from their website www.paypal.com. This is free of charges. If you want to add others payment services (for instance, you bank), you will need to subscribe to their offer and add their scripts to your payment pages (see the next question about "other payment systems" for more information).

Is it possible to use other online secured than the ones proposed in TOWeb?

Yes, but you will need to obtain and customize the payment scripts of your payment service provider before to include them in TOWeb and this operation generally requires advanced web programming skills that are out of the scope of the e-Commerce license and on which we will not provide any technical support. If you want to use another payment service like for instance the one of your bank, you will need to contact them in order to evaluate their offer and see if they can provide you some support in the creation of your own scripts for TOWeb integration.
